The Evening
In Houston, chef events are becoming all the rage, but the March of Dimes’ Signature Chefs Gala stands above them all as Houston’s original and largest culinary affair. Attracting the young, glamorous, affluent movers and shakers, along with the ever-growing foodie crowd, and many of Houston’s most well-known and well-healed philanthropists, this year’s gala promises to be the “toniest” ever, thanks to the exciting announcement of the 2011 Culinary Honorees, Tony Vallone and his beautiful wife Donna. Presented by Wells Fargo, the gala also boasts major support from CIGNA, Tiffany & Co. and Momentum Jaguar.
This year’s theme, “La Cage aux Folles”, promises to kick-up the fun factor with energetic music and entertainment featuring feather-clad caged dancers, costumed performers on perches in the ball room, and special appearances by “Liza”, Barbra”, and “Cher”. The expected crowd of over 800 party-goers will sample the tantalizing creations prepared by 20 of Houston’s most renowned chefs and get a chance to bid on fabulous and unique auction items. While most are there to sample the culinary offerings and to sip the boutique wines amidst a lively party atmosphere, all are there to support the mission of the March of Dimes – to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

The 2011 Gala will by all estimates surpass the record-breaking fundraising results of 2010, again making this the MOST successful Signature Chefs Gala in the country! Tables of 10 are available for $10,000. Tables of ten at the $15,000, and $25,000 levels are also available and include the PLATINUM experience – being personally served a four course tasting menu from Tony’s and served by Tony’s staff. Individual tickets are available for $1,000.

Fund the Mission Contributions
Fund the Mission gifts are direct contributions to March of Dimes research, programs and educational outreach—contributions that have resulted in a significant decrease in preterm births in our Texas programs.
